The week brings two new books of particular interest to Canadian readers.
First up is the latest Louise Penny mystery, “The Grey Wolf,” her 19th novel featuring Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, head of homicide in the Quebec police force. It tops both our fiction lists and was the bestselling book across all categories in Canada last week.
Another significant debut this past big week is “Reconciling History,” by Jody Wilson-Raybould, the former federal justice minister and attorney-general, in collaboration with Roshan Danesh, a lawyer specializing in Indigenous rights. This is Wilson-Raybould’s fourth book since she left federal politics; her first was 2021’s bestselling “Indian in the Cabinet: Speaking Truth to Power.”
